Happy Birthday Lexi and Fun at the beach!!

Today our baby girl turned 5! She was so excited for this birthday. She was ready to move up rooms at the Y and she is just ready to go to school. I am not ready for that, but happy to see what a wonderful daughter and girl she is becoming!! She got to have 2 cakes this year. One was here with us and one was at the beach (more about that to come). Lexi wanted a bright pink purse cake, with a blue A (for her "other real name" as she likes to call it), and purple handles! Well, I think I did it!

The other cake was a beach cake- complete with "sand", palm trees, umbrellas, and bears playing in the sand!!

We spent the last wonderful week at the Outerbanks in NC with the whole Kulzer Clan! We played at the beach, went on long bike rides, went on a boat to see dolphins, and had some quality time together! It was a relaxing vacation that was much needed. Benjamin LOVED chasing waves, Lexi and Makenna both tried to boogie board (they eventually learned how to ride the waves a little), Steven and I just enjoyed being around the all the family!
Here are a TON of pictures!!
The Regal Retreat (the actual name of the house)

The CRAZY turtles in the ponds by the house. If you even walked over by the pond they would all swarm you in hopes to be fed. They all got to touch one of them.

Makenna even held it!Here is Makenna playing in the trees! There were some amazing climbing trees!

Benjamin was happy to climb!
But VERY tired afterwards and almost fell asleep in a hammock!Playing games with Grandpa

The girls got their first pedicure thanks to Nana! They loved it. Makenna painted her nails green and Lexi painted hers blue!
Lexi just stared at the guy doing it. She made sure he did it right :)
Makenna ready for a bike ride.
They had bikes called tag-alongs. It was an attachment to an adult bike that the kids had to pedal and they actually helped us go faster. Makenna rode behind me and Lexi rode behind her Daddy! We definitely want to buy these for at home!!
Ben got the easiest ride behind Grandpa!
We rode about 4 miles to the Currituck Lighthouse
and got some ice cream!! Benny LOVED his "PIDERMAN" (as Ben calls it)
Ben loved being pushed in his boat! The kids out in their jammies- they just couldn't wait to be out!
Ben loved to wait for the waves to chase him. He would do it over and over and get thoroughly wet!!

We tried to find the wild horse but got stuck for about 45 minutes.
While we were waiting the kids played in the sand,
Once again I tired a picture of all 3- once again it didn't work!!
What are they looking at???
Clams- there were thousands of them. The waves would wash them up and then they would stick out their little diggers and dig back down in the sand. The kids were fascinated by them! Here is Makenna holding one of the little ones.
We went to the Wright Brother's Museum this time. It was a gorgeous day!
The kids with the Wright Brothers!

Here we all are ready to go on a boat to look for dolphins.
The girls rode out front so they could search for them..
We found a spot where there were LOTS of them. It was so amazing to watch them play around.
While we were headed back the Captain opened a hole on the floor for Ben. He stared down and watched the water go by. He was amazed by it!
At the end the Captain asked if anyone wanted to get wet and told them that they should go up front of the boat and be ready for a "rough ride." He then blew his horn and opened a bottle of water and sprayed it on everyone's back. Scared Makenna to death- she wasn't expecting it but it was funny!!
We love the beach and had a great time! We miss everyone all ready!
