NC ZOO

Makenna has been bugging us to go to the zoo. So about a month ago, we told her once it is less than 90 degrees out we would go. Needless to say after 30 days of 90 plus degree weather, 10 record breaking heat days- Makenna saw the weather forecast on TV and saw that it was supposed to be 86 today. She then yelled, "Mom we can go to the zoo on Sunday, it is less that 90. It will be 86." So, today we went to the NC Zoo in Asheboro. The last time we went to the zoo it was about a year ago. When we told Lexi we were going to the zoo she asked if the lions would eat her. Benjamin was GREAT the whole time. He loved being outside and watching the people. Makenna was our tour guide, she had the map and told us where we needed to go. She also mentioned that there are many non-fiction books about tree frogs (to my surprise she learned that at school). Makenna said her favorite part was the buffalo and the giraffe. Lexi said her favorite part was the elephants. We would have to say Benjamin was happy not being made to take a nap!!!
